About the Role
As a Concrete Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of concrete construction projects. Leading a team of skilled laborers, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of concrete work, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and timelines. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication to drive project success.
Requirements
1. Safety Leadership:
Serve as the primary safety leader on the jobsite, ensuring that all personnel follow safety protocols and guidelines.
Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce strict adherence to PPE requirements.
Identify and promptly address safety hazards and concerns.
2. Project Planning and Coordination:
Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to plan and coordinate concrete construction projects.
Review construction plans and specifications to fully understand project requirements.
Develop a comprehensive work plan and schedule for all concrete activities.
3. Resource Management:
Oversee the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, to ensure efficient project execution.
Monitor material inventory and coordinate the procurement of supplies as required to meet project demands.
4. Tool and Equipment Management:
Ensure that all tools and equipment are in excellent working condition.
Supervise the operation of concrete tools and equipment, optimizing their use for maximum productivity.
5. Concrete Mixing and Placement:
Direct the preparation of concrete mixes, verifying material proportions and quality.
Lead concrete placement activities, managing the work of laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractors as needed.
Monitor and manage concrete curing processes to ensure proper curing methods are employed.
6. Quality Control and Inspection:
Implement rigorous quality control measures, inspecting concrete work to ensure it meets design and engineering requirements.
Oversee adjustments and corrections as necessary to maintain the highest quality standards.
7. Formwork and Rebar Supervision:
Supervise and assist in the installation and alignment of formwork to meet design specifications.
Ensure that rebar is correctly placed, tied, and secured in accordance with engineering requirements.
8. Finishing and Texturing:
Lead finishing work on concrete surfaces using power trowels, hand trowels, and other tools to achieve specified textures and finishes.
Perform skilled repairs and patching of concrete surfaces as required.
9. Leadership and Training:
Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to concrete laborers, helping them develop their skills.
Coordinate and oversee training programs for new team members and provide ongoing development opportunities.
10. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain meticulous project records, including progress reports, material receipts, change orders, and incident reports.
Communicate project progress, challenges, and any deviations from the project plan to project managers and supervisors in a timely manner.
11. Communication:
Foster clear and open communication with project managers, engineers, supervisors, team members, and subcontractors.
Collaborate with other trades involved in the project and communicate effectively to ensure seamless project execution.
